PURA OAK is our end grain oak butcher block from the Essentia Collection.

Ligna’s Essentia Collection reflects the essential beauty of each wood, highlighting its natural colors and grain.

Each piece captures the purity of wood in its most authentic form, turning the functional into a decorative element.

Oak wood stands out for its hardness and antibacterial resistance. With a high resistance to wear and tear and high natural antibacterial properties, it is our wood of choice for boards dedicated to cutting raw moist foods such as meat or fish.

Because of its high tannin content, oak wood tends to darken with use, giving it a distinctive touch.

PURA OAK and LINEA OAK are the heaviest boards in the Essentia Collection.

Thanks to its end grain construction, the surface of the board is softer on your knives and, at the same time, incredibly resistant to daily use.

Wood is a fibrous and porous organic material. Exposure to high temperatures and contact with aggressive agents such as caustic soda deteriorates and deforms it. In addition, the adhesives and resins used lose their adhesion and cracks may appear in the board.

The board should always be washed by hand with warm water and dried immediately to ensure a long service life. For more maintenance tips visit the Care and Maintenance page.
