I am Alex, the founder of Ligna, and my journey with wood began in a very special way: in my grandfather's workshop. He is a fine furniture maker, a true master in the art of transforming wood into functional and beautiful pieces. As a child, I spent countless hours at his side, learning the secrets of this job and sharing the love for this noble material.
What started as a hobby in that same workshop in 2019 has become Ligna, a project that reflects that artisanal tradition and attention to detail that I learned from my grandfather.
At Ligna, we not only create high quality cutting boards, but we also honor the legacy of craftsmanship made with patience and respect for wood.....
Cutting boards / Pura
Designed for the most demanding jobs, Pura is, in essence, elegance and functionality at its best.
Thanks to its end-grain construction, the board's surface is softer for the knives and, at the same time, incredibly resistant to daily use.
Available in four woods and three sizes designed to adapt to all spaces and culinary needs.
Oak wood stands out for its hardness and antibacterial properties. It is our favorite wood for boards used to cut raw moist foods such as meat or fish.
It should be noted that oak cutting boards are considerably heavier than walnut or cherry boards.
Maple wood stands for its durability and dimensional stability.
Often considered the best wood for cutting boards, its material characteristics as well as its high availability and low cost make it a good choice for a durable cutting board at a good price.
